I’ve had my Instincts for over a year. Can’t say enough good things about them. Cushion without being thick and squishy, still some ground feel, not much support (I don’t do well with support -my feet can support themselves), lovely zero drop. I’ve done barefoot and minimalist and maximalist, these are my favorites. None of the other brands are really comparable to these, in my opinion.

I just was fitted for a pair, i have been using Hurachees but wanted a bit of cushioning to deal with some achilles tenderness. Tried the newtons and some other zero drop shoes bit the altras dealt with my tall foot much better

It’s great to read what you think about these shoes! I bought a pair for when I return to running after the baby comes and I’m really excited to try running in them.

I haven’t tried them… i run in a high-stability shoe. I’m trying to make my way towards a minimal shoe and working on correcting my stride/form. I love walking around in neutral shoes though.

I first learned about Altras from your first review. I like the sound of the extra cushion and wide toe box — still haven’t found a minimalist shoe that works for me.

I would love to try a more minimalist shoe. I need to take the plunge.
Do they hold up well or do you have to replace them more than other running shoes?

Sounds like a good shoes. I think I would like the fact that it is a bit more cushioned than the others.
I think my next step will be to go to a local running store that offers technique classes and a) sign up for one and b) get them to recommend shoes for me based on my gait.

Also really curious about the Altras. I think that these may be something that I look into down the road as I consider trying some minimalist shoes.

I haven’t tried any of Altra Zeros shoes, but this sounds like it might be a good choice for me to ease myself in… curious to what you think after a few more months.
