I’ve been trying and trying to figure out which fall half would fit into my insanely busy fall schedule (let’s make that my entire family’s insanely busy fall schedule) when the answer fell nicely into my lap! Thanks to FitFluential and Runner’s World, I’m going to be heading up to Pennsylvania to run the Runner’s World half on Oct. 21.
The timing on this one is really perfect. It’s about six weeks out from my marathon on Dec. 2. The temperatures in late October up in Bethlehem should be exactly where I like them. And the course promises to be beautiful, enhanced by fall leaves and sections through two college campuses (Lehigh U. and Moravian College).
Not only that, but I couldn’t be more excited for the weekend they have planned for our group of about 35 bloggers. We’ll be getting up close and personal with the Runner’s World staff, doing some running together, and getting a tour of the course ahead of time. But even if you aren’t part of this band of bloggers, there’s SO much to do throughout the weekend’s activities.
There’s a 5k and 10k, along with a kids’ run, on Saturday. There’s a great lineup of speakers, everyone from Bart Yasso to Kristin Armstrong to Shalane Flanagan and others. The weekend also includes informational seminars on everything from nutrition to shoes. Really, I can’t think of a better way to spend a weekend! Kind of a running geek’s ideal weekend (so says one).

Who else is headed to Bethlehem in October?
