Fabulous Fitbloggin

Next to talking about ourselves, we bloggers probably like meet ups about as much as anything. Oh, and free swag. But those weren’t the real reasons so many of us flocked to Fitbloggin in Baltimore this year. Truly.

Fitbloggin did have awesome swag (see below video for my haul), and it did provide a great chance to meet up with other like-minded people. But the meat of Fitbloggin had to be the incredible line up of speakers and topics. Holy overloaded head of mine!

This blog is approaching three years old, and while I’ve learned SO much in that time about blogging, spending three days at Fitbloggin only reminded me of how much more I stand to learn. Topics covered the gamut, including blog to book, how to pitch articles/ideas to magazines and companies, SEO (I’m such a neophyte here) and how to use YouTube to drive traffic to your blog. And each one of these topics was presented by a social media superstar. Serious bang for your buck. If I can implement half of what I learned, I think I can make some big improvements to my social media presence.

As to the meet ups, they were pretty fantastic, too. I got to put faces to so many of my favorite bloggers, and I also met new bloggers who I will now be following. Everyone was friendly, gracious and on a similar wavelength.

Next year Fitbloggin is heading to Portland, Oregon, so not sure if I’ll be a part of it or not–it was great to have it just down the road so that I could buzz in and out each day. Regardless, I’m so glad I went this year–now it’s time to disseminate and implement!

Have you attended a blogging conference before? What did you like best about it?

Looks awesome! I went to BlogHer this year (my first time) but I wish I had signed up for FitBloggin’ instead. While I learned a ton at BlogHer, there was a lot going on there that wasn’t to relevant for me. Glad you had a great time!

I love you pieced this together so succinctly! Mine is a bit more on the vomit side of information… :) Yes, I know what you mean about soaking up all the info and figuring out how to apply it now. I was trying to sleep on the flight home, but kept opening my planner to jot notes and brainstorm new directions to explore. I needed that motivational spark!

This sounds amazing!!! I was so jealous that I was going to miss it this year…being a new blogger (my 1 year anniversary is in a few days), I am learning every single day from other bloggers like you. And I agree with some of the previous comments…an FFA weekend sounds like it needs to happen…And I can’t WAIT to meet you next month =)

That’s a nice haul! And nice that it was right in your backyard so you could just pop in and out. I love meeting other bloggers and of course learning more about blogging, writing and fitness…! I have never been to a conference though! Maybe next year!
