ViewSport review and giveaway

One of the things I love about Twitter is the exposure I get to people and companies I might not otherwise encounter. That was the case with ViewSport, which picked up on a recent tweet I sent out to another blogger. They introduced me to their clothing line and gave me the chance to try it out.

ViewSport is a bit different than other clothing lines in that your sweat activates words on the shirt that you wouldn’t see otherwise. Cool, huh? But as much as I like that concept, it didn’t quite turn out that way for me.

Front of sweat-stained tank

ViewSport sent me their “I am Beast Mode” tank to try out. Since it’s a tank, I had to wait until I was doomed to run on the treadmill to try it out. Today fit the bill–the only way to get my workout in was very early today and it had to be indoors because I was the only adult here at the time.

So–I donned the shirt for a 45-min. trainer session followed immediately by a 45-min. run. I worked up a pretty good sweat. I liked how the shirt held up–it felt like cotton (it’s 98% cotton/2% spandex) but still managed to wick sweat away. But, when I was finished, I was disappointed to see that the words “I am Beast” didn’t appear on the back as they were supposed to. Not enough sweat? Not sure–my son’s first response upon seeing me was “your shirt is pretty stained.” So I’d say there was enough sweat there, but who knows?

Wordless back of tank

Either way, I’d wear this shirt again, just for it’s utility. I suspect it will be a great, cool shirt in the summer heat.

Viewsport has one to offer you, too. To enter, just leave a comment telling me below. I’ll use random.org to pick a winner next Wednesday, Feb. 1. Good luck!

Cool idea! I don’t usually sweat that much when I am running (I usually start sweating once I stop) so I am not sure how well it would work for me, but I love the idea! Thanks for the chance to win.

Great shirt but it wouldn’t work for me either. I’m not a heavy sweater. I could never work up a sweat that soaks my shirt. I get a little on my forehead and then during extreme workouts, a little drips down from the top of my chest.

I was on the treadmill today as well – hate that!

I also talked with ViewSport on twitter…I love their “chase me” tank! Although sweating thru a wicky sports bra and the shirt might be a bit of a challenge…until July! :P
