Yep, beginning Tuesday, yours truly is hitting the road for a whirlwind tour of four different states (ok, I’m counting a day in Md, here, but..). Tuesday I am heading off to the Midwest to visit my parents for a few days. I’ll also get to
catch up with old friends, which adds to the fun.
Friday, I’m off to NYC to celebrate my mini-me’s birthday as well as mine. If you haven’t heard, it just so happens that this is ING NYC Marathon weekend, so that of course means meet-ups! I’ll see Erin again, meet Molly, and meet Lisa, all at the expo of expos. Birthday shopping? Just maybe.
I get one day back at home on Sunday, and then Monday it’s off to North Carolina to see my miracle doctor, the sock doc. You might recall he fixed my rather stubborn ITB last March and after all this time messing around with my feet, I’ve decided it can’t hurt to try again. My friend Jess offered to hop in the car with me, so road tripping we will be. You’ll of course get the full story.
I’m a homebody at heart, so this is a bit of a stretch for me. I fully expect to see the laundry pile up, the refrigerator run bare, and the house in a state of chaos when I return. But it’s all good and all worth it. Planes, trains and automobiles, here I come!
Are you a regular traveler or a homebody?

Am I really the first to comment? I have to type fast to preserve that.
I am a homebody if my kids are involved, but I love to travel if they are not. :^)
Have a GREAT time. I wish I could be there for NYC too.

Have fun! I am not a homebody so that sounds fantastic to me! I have a strict “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy when I leave my husband with the kids. I don’t care what he does as long as everyone is living and has all their limbs when I get back. Safe travels!

Actually sounds like a lot of fun. But traveling is so much work, so I get both sides of it. The best part is running in all those different places!

YEah for the Midwest! Where do your folks live? Are you originally from here? How cool to be in NYC this coming weekend – will you get to stay to watch the race I hope?

So much going on!! I didn’t know you’re from the mid-west, so am I! Can’t wait to meet you on Saturday. Hopefully it won’t be too crazy so we can actually chat for a minute! Hope your doc appointment goes well; road trip sounds fun!

Jess and Lisa–I am originally from Ohio and my parents are still there. Lisa, you’re from Michigan right? Mich. vs. OSU!
Sounds like the perfect mixture of friends, family and maybe some GOOD info abotu your feet. Travel safe. I am a homebody who likes to venture from home. If that makes any sense.
It’s funny – I think of myself as a bit of a homebody, but these last two weekends are the first consecutive at home in months and months, and I was in Philly for a total of 2.5 weeks this past summer. So I guess I’ve got some wanderlust in me, too
Have a great trip, and enjoy all the celebrating!

I’m a homebody…always have been and always will be. The little traveling I have done- are to races. Now if I would only do more sight-seeing while I am there!

Safe travels. Wish I could be in NYC to cheer on our marathon friends. That’s great!
I miss my pup too much to enjoy traveling anymore. But in order for me to really relax, I have to be away from home otherwise, I can’t leave work alone.

I’m a total homebody. When I travel a lot I become stressed. I need home time to wash laundry, grocery shop and just BE.
Have a great week.
Regular traveler. It’s a weird month if I’m not in an airplane at least twice. That said, your whirlwind might beat any multi-state travel I’ve done recently (though I did fly Pensacola to San Diego to Providence to Pensacola in the course of 5 days this summer… that’s still only 3 states, not 4!)
Safe travels!
